What is the rainy season in Sri Lanka?
In accordance with its geographical location, Sri Lanka experiences two main rainy seasons.
South-Westward Monsoon (Yala Season): Heavy rains usually pour down in the regions around this time over the South-Western, Southern, and Western coasts, and this reaches until the beginning of October.
But the Northern-Eastern Monsoon (Maha Season) appears from October to January and only rains pretty much in the eastern region, including Jaffna, North-East, and Trincomalee.
But, don't forget that with all this wet weather, there are may also be some sunny places around to hit.
